Now is a great time to join one SJA’s many musical groups. If you can carry a tune and match a pitch, you’re in! Here are short descriptions of each group.
St. Joan of Arc Choir is a 30-voice choir that ministers from the choir loft at the 10 AM Sunday Mass. The choir’s repertoire includes traditional and contemporary music. Weekly practices are on Wednesdays, 7:15-9:15 PM, beginning
September 6. The choir’s season roughly coincides with the school year.
The Teen Choir is a group of singers and instrumentalists in grades seven through college. They minister at the 6:00 PM Saturday Mass. The ensemble’s repertoire consists of traditional and contemporary music. Weekly practice time will be set once members schedules are determined.
SJA’s Children’s Choir is open to all parish children in grades 3 to 7. Weekly practices are held on Wednesdays after school (the exact time TBD). The choir sings once a month, usually at the 10:00 AM Sunday Mass, and at various special occasions during the year.
Anthems is a small contemporary ensemble that ministers from the piano at the 12:00 PM Sunday Mass. The group is directed by Eleonore Ellero; its repertoire is primarily contemporary music. Their weekly practices will likely be on Tuesdays after Evening Prayer.
The Guitar Group is a collection of singers and instrumentalists led by Ken Madeleine (
[email protected]). The group ministers year-round at 4:00 PM Saturday Mass. They practice from 7:30 to 9:00 PM Thursdays and sing primarily contemporary music.
