St. Joan of Arc Church
21620 Mack Avenue, (586) 777.3670
Come to St. Joan of Arc for a unique prayer service full of simple and uncluttered beauty. Sit quietly or join in as the Spirit moves you with the chants and prayers based on the pattern of worship of the Taize’ community. The prayer service will be led by the St. Joan of Arc music ministry.
Taizé, a small village in eastern France, has, for over 50 years, been the home of a Christian monastic community made up of brothers from many different countries, speaking many different languages and, uniquely, belonging to several different Christian denominations. Catholics, Anglicans, Protestants, Orthodox and others live and pray together, sharing a simple life and welcoming tens of thousands of visitors every year who come to pray in the community’s meditative chanting of short biblical phrases and other Christian texts.
