A pilgrimage kick-off for World Youth Day 2015 in Krakow, Poland, will be held at Hamtramck's St. Florian Parish on Sunday, October 26.
Gifts to the Catholic Services Appeal help fund this event of the archdiocesan Youth Ministry Office to excite teens about the next international meeting of youth. Pope John Paul II began the tradition of World Youth Day, which includes catechesis, fellowship, worship, and renewal. The kick-off will include Mass at St. Florian Church, a short welcome, address, and prayer, as well as time to enjoy the St. Florian Polish Festival.
Youth ministry in the Archdiocese of Detroit, along with young adult and campus ministry, is coordinated through the Department of Evangelization, Catechesis, and Schools.
